Road Cycling Highlight
There are certainly more beautiful places than the built-up summit of the Hessian Feldberg, BUT of course you have a magnificent view in almost all directions, if you get a look between or over the trees. The climb is already neat, but feasible and then of course follows a great departure.

The Great Feldberg (also Feldberg in the Taunus, often only Feldberg) is the highest mountain in the southwest of Hesse located Mittelgebirge Taunus and the entire Rhenish Slate Mountains. The details of its exact height are depending on the source between 878 [and 881.5 m above sea level. NHN height (see section Mountain height) .🚴♂️
With a prominence of 670 m (over the saddle near Großen-Buseck near Gießen) and a dominance of 101 km (against the Dammersfeldkuppe in the Rhön) it is one of the most striking high mountain peaks in Germany.
The Feldberg massif, consisting of Groß Feldberg and the nearby Kleiner Feldberg (825.2 m), is part of the Taunus main ridge (Hoher Taunus or also called Hochtaunus).
Its outstanding height made the Great Feldberg from 1935 to the experimental area for early German television technology. It is a popular winter sports resort, but it loses its appeal because of the increasingly frequent lack of snow among winter sports enthusiasts. The mountain, whose top area is unwooded, is a popular destination.
The Great Feldberg rises in the Taunus Nature Park and the Hochtaunuskreis within the district of Niederreifenberg, which belongs to the municipality Schmitten, whose nucleus is north of the mountain. Oberursel is located east, Kronberg southeast, Königstein south and glassworks southwest. Just 1.4 km south-southwest is the Kleine Feldberg, 2.85 km southeast of the Altkönig (798.2 m) .🚴♂️
