Geologically Blackdown is part of the Greensand Ridge, formed of Lower Greensand, much of which is sandstone.
This ridge top bridleway cuts through open healthland, showcasing some of the finest scenery in the area. Sandy tracks, yellow gorse, heather-clad hills and towering pine trees dominate the landscape.
