Taxal Edge, above Whaley Bridge, is the northern part of a ridge system that runs north south along the border between Cheshire and Derbyshire. From here, you can hike up to the popular climbers' crag of Windgather Rocks, or continue on to Shining Tor, Cheshire's highest point at 1,834 feet (599 m).
