The Johanneskirche in Kirschau with its round dome is visible from afar. In terms of its design, it clearly stands out from other churches in the region and owes its existence to the boom in the town at the beginning of the 20th century. It was built in 1924 by the architect Bohlig from Dresden, at the same time that the town center was being redesigned. The factory owner Adolf Friese had it built in memory of his son Johannes who died in World War I.
