The town hall of San Quirico, capital of the Municipality of Vernio, was the count's palace, called Casone, of the Bardi Counts, imperial vicars, who had jurisdiction over the County of Vernio, an autonomous fiefdom until the arrival of the Napoleonic troops and then definitively suppressed and included in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany with article 100 letter D of the General Treaty of Vienna of 1815.
