Forth Mountain is a rock outcrop rising to a height of 780 feet (235m) just south west of Wexford town. It has a trig pointed summit.

      Day 1. Ireland Trip.
Wexford & Kilkenny Four Marilyns - Forth Mountain 237m, Carrickbyrne Hill 234m, Tory Hill 292m, and Carricktriss Gorse 314m.

On many of the peak bagging/outdoor websites I perused for this trip I noted there were very few route descriptions regarding ascents of the lesser known Irish Marilyns. This also applied to the availability of gpx files. I will therefore add relevant information and files that hopefully will provide assistance to future hikers/peakbaggers.

Forth Mountain 237m, Wexford (Trig Point & Marilyn).
Parking: Carrigfoyle Activity Centre Car Park. I parked here at 4am in the morning (came straight off the ferry) so it was obviously empty. Basically there are parking bays running alongside the small unclassified road leading down to Carrigfoyle lake.
Walk out of the car park (south) turn left and turn right after a 100m up a concrete road. There are ‘no access’ signs on the pillars either side of the road here but I think that applies to motor cars? After about ten minutes you come to a locked farm gate that leads onto the grassy summit plateau but you can get around the side of it. Walk round in a half loop to the left on a rough track and go up the rocky grassy mound to the trig point. I can’t add much else as it was in the dark and misty.

Parking: Parking bays at start point (free).
Route: Normal road and concrete, a bit of rough track. Easy enough.
Statistics: 2km in 25mins with 45m height gain.
