Completely new, very nice rest area with a shelter on the "smuggler route" opened on April 15, 2023, which leads around Neudersum and crosses the border towards the Netherlands.The "Schmugglerroute/Smokkelroute" offers historical background information about the smuggling activities between Germany and the Netherlands on several information boards in two languages (German/Dutch). One of these information boards is also located at this rest area.
