Across the meadows, the view extends to Milseburg, the legendary 835-meter-high mountain with its imposing Crucifixion group (which, of course, isn't visible from here).

Across the Steens valley basin, the view also extends to the Lothar Mai House. For some, this is surely the place to stop for refreshments within easy reach. The house dates back to the 1950s and was later significantly expanded.
