At 178 m, the Golmberg is the highest point in the district of Teltow-Fläming. A Slavic sanctuary probably existed here before the Middle Ages. Later it was a Christian sanctuary up until the time of the Reformation. On the Kirchberg, as the mountain was also called in Christian times, there was a Marian chapel for pilgrimages from 1437 until the middle of the 16th century. In 1439 this chapel was given to the Zinna monastery. Until the Reformation, people from far and wide came to the Golmberg to have their sins forgiven. After the Reformation, the chapel was unused. The chapel's carved early Gothic altar of Mary is now in Stülpe's church. This church was built by Christoph von Hacke around 1562-68 using demolition stones from the chapel on the Golmberg.
