The Estacion Trinidad is an old train station that is no longer used in its original form. It currently houses the Fernando Gutiérrez Museum.
It was built together with the Durazno-Trinidad railway line at the beginning of the 20th century. Unlike the country's other railroads, this line is unique in that, like the station, it was built by an American-funded company, the Pan American Trans Continental Railway Company. Inaugurated in 1916, the station was heavily eclectic and inspired by French classicism. Its architecture deviates from the typical architecture of other railway stations in Uruguay (mostly built by the English).
