The group of monuments popularly known as ‘The Thirty Pastors’, consisting of a Gothic wayside shrine (Marter) and four mighty stone crosses, is considered to be one of the most important collections of field monuments of this type in Franconia (cf. Erlangen-Bruck); around 1930 the group still stood alone, visible from afar, before the site was enlarged by new buildings

the Neunhofer Marter is seen by experts as the oldest field monument in the area around Nuremberg, whereby there is a high probability of documentary evidence; from a Wöhrder court book of the 'Ames der Vesten' from the years 1433 to 1436 there is an old atonement contract ('anno 1435'), which was preceded by a manslaughter in the 'garlic country' - the manslayer Heinz Ringmann from Neunhof, the victim Hans Morder, a farmer from Kraftshof.
