Top cycling routes to Geeste Reservoir

Tips

  • The Geeste reservoir is an artificial lake that was built in the 1980s to serve as a cooling water basin for the Lingen nuclear power plant. However, the value of the Stillsee for improving the quality of life in the region was recognized and so the lake developed into a popular local recreation area. In addition to the 850-meter-long sandy beach with sunbathing lawn, there are also gastronomic offers and the lake can be wonderfully explored on the hiking and cycling path.

  • Ideal for a little round on the dike. Then a cup of coffee in the dike crown.
