The castle is a listed building. The building was destroyed in World War II and restored in 1950/1951. The Heimatverein Odenkirchen took over the building in 1989 from the parish of St. Laurentius with the condition of restoration for 30 years on a long lease. He renovated the castle tower with loving care. The largest room, the "Jan-von-Werth-Zimmer", has been given an inviting interior and is used for gatherings and celebrations.
