In 1717 the foundation stone was laid for the new building of today's parish and pilgrimage church in Maria Jeutendorf. The spiritual site is visited by numerous pilgrims every year.In 1676 the local castle was acquired by Baron Maximilian von Sala. In gratitude for his eldest daughter's recovery, he had a chapel built opposite. Here he founded a Servite monastery in 1693. Almost three hundred years later - in 1978 - it was closed due to a lack of young talent.
