A little less then halfway up the Eielson Alpine Trail you might get some fantastic views of Denali as you switchback up the tundra. On (an admittedly rare) clear day you can see the immense, glacier-covered peak. Even if there are some clouds obscuring your view, this is still an amazing spot high up above the valley floor. There is also the potential to see many unique animals, from small ptarmigans and pikas to huge caribou and bears, that live in this amazing environment.
