The Knock - the ideal place to relax and unwind

The Knock is about 15 km northwest of the seaport of Emden. Long dykes and a small sandy beach invite you to take a walk or relax in the sun in almost complete seclusion. In addition to your own relaxation, dogs also get their money's worth on the dog beach.
Dogs are allowed to walk without a leash on the paved path to the back of the sandy bay and also in the sandy bay itself. However, this only applies to dogs that can be reliably retrieved.
On the dyke itself and in the hinterland there is generally a leash obligation.
The beach at the pier is not suitable for swimming due to the strong undercurrent. Information about the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, which stretches off the Lower Saxony coast between the border with the Netherlands at Dollart and the Elbe estuary near Cuxhaven.
