The Banzai Bridge is an old concrete Bridge that crosses the Achi River on the old Enshu Kaido Salt Road (shio-no-michi) between Iida and Shimojo. It is a steep decent and a tough climb on that old narrow road, but the wild Achi River is magnificent. If you are in a hurry or do not feel like climbing the valley back up, you can take the new bridge of the National Route 151 from where you also get a nice view on the surrounding area.
