Mempening refers to a Malayan oak species (drupe oak), so the trail leads through beautiful forest, where you can see one or the other beautiful specimen of this species. In the nearby botanical garden there are some of these oak trees with an explanation sign - very practical for tourists. The trail starts in the north at Power Station Road and then leads over 2.5 km to the junction with the Bukit Tupai Trail. At the end you can walk to the botanical garden via the Silau Silau Trail as well as to the all-day Liwagu Restaurant. You make a few meters in altitude, but it's not really steep. But as everywhere when hiking, be careful here, there are many roots that are mostly damp, so you can easily slip.
