Gut Lanken is located in the middle of the 256 hectare nature reserve. The historic manor house and the impressive granary were built in 1732 and are listed buildings. Unfortunately, not much else is known about the history of Gut Lanken. The nature reserve, which consists of two areas, is located northeast of Schwarzenbek. It covers part of the former “Lanken” training area, which is around 600 hectares in size and was used until the end of 1994. It is characterized by different habitats. Some areas within the nature reserve are used for agriculture. The Steinau lowlands in the north of the nature reserve are still partly close to nature. Rare plants can be found in the different habitats in the nature reserve.
The NSG is also the habitat of various bird and amphibian species.
Unfortunately, in 2012 a large part of the area was converted into a huge solar park. This area is therefore no longer accessible to the public.
Fortunately, a lot of beautiful nature has been preserved all around, which is ideal for cycling or hiking.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lanken_(Schleswig-Holstein)

The detour to the listed granary of Gut Lanken is worthwhile. Little is known about the history of the estate. It was surrounded by the military training area until the 1990s and was therefore not accessible.
