The new suspension bridge connects the two national parks Thayatal and Podyjí and, including the Thayabrücke in Hardegg, opens up a new cross-border circular hiking trail. Where the Iron Curtain once separated the Czech Republic and Austria, the Thayatal and Podyjí National Parks now work closely together to protect the nature of the Thayatal as best as possible. The new suspension bridge over the Thaya is a visible symbol of this good cooperation. It is a meeting place for visitors from both countries, and the new circular route will make the protected area even more of a boundless hiker's paradise.
