In 1874 the Municipality of Grasse became the owner of Source Foulon. Plans were approved in 1878 and the canal was inaugurated on July 21, 1889. It includes numerous structures above the cavity and 22 tunnels for a total length of 2600 m. The classic aqueduct-style work is replaced in the 1950s by the large tube (60 cm diameter) currently in place.
