But with the establishment of factories and perfumeries, his inflow quickly became insufficient. In 1874 the municipality of Grasse became the owner of Source Foulon. The plans were approved in 1878 and the canal was inaugurated on July 21, 1889. It includes numerous structures above the cavity and 22 tunnels with a total length of 2600 m. The classic aqueduct-style work is replaced in the 1950s by the currently existing large tube (60 cm diameter).
