Beautiful landscape all around on the ascent and on the descent from the Haast Pass. That was another highlight of our bike tour.

Cycling over Haast Pass takes you across the border of Westland and Otago districts. This mountain pass in the Southern Alps connects the wild West Coast to the picturesque Wanaka Lake district in Central Otago.
Along the roadside, a stone marker commemorates the builders of this road and marks the summit, serving as a reminder of their dedication.
