A havezathe is a fortified house, homestead, court or farm. Originally it was the name for a large farm with land. In the 17th century, possession of a manor is a condition for being a member of a knighthood. That havezathe had to be defensible. That is why there is a moat around it. In recent centuries, Havezathe de Kamp has been renovated and renovated several times. In 1782 the stepped gables disappear and in 1871 the canal is filled in. De Kamp loses its castle-like appearance.
