In a broader part, what is called “De Zandvang”, De Buursebeek drops its entrained sand and grit. The Zandvang is part of the Schipbeek, but is closed on both sides by a weir. Due to the limited water level fluctuations, there are no problems for the development of fish. The Zandvang is even included in the national list of fishing waters.
