The castle peninsula is a 1.5 km long tongue of land that extends deep into the Pöhl dam between the Bellwitzbach and the Aubach. It owes its name to the castle of the sunken village of Pöhl, which stood nearby.

The Rodlera is a small settlement northeast of Pöhl. In 1578 she was first mentioned in the history books under the name Rodla.
The Rodlera was always a bit isolated on the side of the road from Neudörfel to Helmsgrün. Until 1961, neither a town entrance sign nor any other sign drew attention to the houses in the back of the forest. That is why Rodlera remained unoccupied at the end of the Second World War. The American occupying forces rolled past Rodlera on April 18, 1945.
In the course of the construction of the dam, the importance of the place increased. A bungalow settlement of the same name was built. And in Rodlera itself, individual bungalows and weekend houses were built. Tourism also found its way into this small town.
Despite everything, Rodlera remained an idyllic spot on earth. In order to preserve this for future generations, the Helmsgrün community council, in agreement with the Plauen district office, decided in 1991 not to allow any further development in this area.

Nice children's playground. Nice place to hang out.
