The Kleine Luppe is a tributary of the Weißen Elster and flows exclusively within the city of Leipzig. It shows an anastomosing flow course. The main river splits into a network of many smaller rivers, which are connected by small canals and create a large number of islands. These forms are often found in an inland delta. The rest of the river course is heavily denatured and straightened. Fishing at the Kleine Luppe and Nahle in Leipzig is possible.
