It all began at the end of the Second World War, when Don Vito, chaplain in Meolo, was assigned the care of the parishioners of nearby Marteggia: a few farmhouses inhabited by patriarchal families, sharecroppers and peasants. It was immediately clear to Don Vito that, in order to operate, it was necessary to have a church.

The building consists of a single central nave with side chapels, which ends in the apsidal presbytery, facing southwest.
