The Gleimhaus in Halberstadt is one of the oldest German literature museums. It was set up in 1862 in the former home of the poet and collector Johann Wilhelm Ludwig Gleim (1719-1803). The half-timbered house is located northeast of the chancel of the Gothic cathedral in Halberstadt. The collections of the Gleimhaus go back to the Gleim estate.
