If hiking in the Niagara Region this year be aware of the ticks. They are very numerous anywhere there are tall grasses. Best to wear long slacks (pants) and socks so they can't attach to the legs. Check your dog (pets) carefully after all hikes. Some ticks can cause limes desease. Bug spray around the legs can also help. Not to worry, just be mindful and enjoy the region.
