The Cistercian Abbey of Dalheim was a noble monastery from 1258 to 1802, which was originally founded in nearby Ophoven and then moved to "Talheim" in 1258. You can visit the monastery courtyard. The sweet chestnut avenue in the direction of Birgelen is also very nice. The Dalheim Cross from this abbey, believed to work miracles, is in the Christoffelkathedraal in Roermond.
The nearby Dalheimer Mühle was once the monastery's mill.
