Höllrich Castle was once a moated castle of those of Thüngen. It was built in the 16th century and inhabited until about 1960. It must have been in bad condition at that time and should actually be torn down.
After all: it is still there, although it is in need of renovation.

If you want, you can take a vacation here in the historic walls for little money. The lord of the castle, Hans Herr, rents two lovely holiday apartments together with his wife Gundula.
