I guess unusual compared to most hikes, this trailhead starts at the highest point of elevation of the entire trail meaning you'll hike straight down the mountain, and you end your hike with a strenuous climb. And strenuous it is with a steep ascent/descent depending on direction, so keep this in mind when you go down.
