It's not a highlight, but something you need to know. Laos side: border guard asked 5 dollar per person for an exit paper (you don't need this paper!). Then he wanted still 5 dollar, then after arguing he said 2 dollar for stamp. Please don't pay this! You don't need to pay for the stamps! He got down to 1 dollar and we still refused. Than he wanted us to wait (play with our time), refuse: say you saw his name on his shirt and you are going to call the embassy. Than they are fast with stamping! In Nameo border nobody asked for money. Here they try to rip you off! In CAMBODIA entry same story: they ask 1 dollar stamp fee. Here we kindly refused and he just said OK. Laos side was more an issue. Don't let them get extra money out of you, you already paid for the visa. Recommend to get the e-visa not the one on arrival.
