Villa Aganoor, also called Villa Virginia in honor of Countess Virginia Aganoor, once on two floors with a large colonnade was rebuilt, after a fire in 1909, in 1924 on three floors and with only two columns. Together with the ancient barchessa, the well, the stone table and the old park on the banks of the Rasego river, it was one of the two villas where the Aganoor family of Armenian origin lived. Here the poet-writer Vittoria Aganoor (1855-1910) composed many of her poems of Leggenda Eterna (1900), inspired by this "her hermitage". A plaque inside the porch of the villa commemorates the illustrious characters hosted here by the poet, including Giacomo Zanella and Enrico Nencioni; another outside on the boundary wall, recalls the passage of the "first poetess of Italy" who was in Basalghelle from 1884 to 1901. Today the villa is owned by the Arrigoni family.
