Pen-y-Pass is the start point for the Pyg Track, Miners Track and Crib Goch routes up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). It's also the start of the Snowdon Horseshoe fell running route and often used as a checkpoint for longer mountain runs including the Welsh 3000s and 1000s.

There's limited and expensive parking, but it's serviced by a regular bus from Llanberis which is a much better way of accessing the hills here. There is a small shop and cafe and the YHA across the road with a bar.
