According to some sources, the feudal castle, in the locality of Toppola, was built during the Norman domination in the principality of Salerno, which also included the Serinese territory. With the loss of its defensive function, the castle suffered the ravages of time and was progressively abandoned, so much so that in a document dated January 12, 1569 it is said that: “the Castle is currently uninhabited and semi-ruined”!
