Some remains of an old Jesuit mission that managed the estancia from 1741-1767. Lime for the construction was produced here in two large kilns. The name "de las huérfanas" (of the orphans) comes from the fact that the proceeds from the facility were intended to support the Colegio de Niñas Huérfanas de Buenos Aires.
Extensive documentation (in Spanish) of the entire complex, which in its heyday was of considerable size and offered space for numerous people.
