The Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park was established in 1991 for the protection of the local flora and fauna. Nature, culture and history are enclosed in this large area of great value. Within its borders there are UNESCO World Heritage sites: the archaeological sites of Paestum and Velia and the Certosa di Padula.
