The St. Nicholas Church is in Treia. Since the small river Treene flows through Treia, it is easy to explain why the church was dedicated to St. Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors. It bears the year 1757 on its western end. This year is a bit misleading, the church was enlarged in that year. It was probably built, i.e. created, in the 13th century, as evidenced by the crucifix dating from around 1300. kirchenkreis-schleswig-flensburg.de/gemeinden/kreisgebiet-schleswig-flensburg/treia.html

The Nikolaikirche in Treia is located on the main road 201 near the Treenebrücke. In the past two important traffic routes crossed here: the trade route running from west to east and the then busy Treene. The whitewashed church is dedicated to St. Nicholas, the patron saint of boatmen. This is probably related to the location of the town on the river.
