The church in Battin was built at the beginning of the 18th century, probably on the foundations of the previous church, destroyed during the Thirty Years' War.
In 1945, the church was destroyed and burnt down. Then for almost 60 years it was in ruins. It was already overgrown with trees. It was only in the years 2001 - 2003 that the area was tidied up and the ruins secured. The tower received a temporary emergency roof, but the nave remained unroofed. The church is used for outdoor events.
