In the 19th century, a small Jewish community lived in Ter Apel.
In 1883 a synagogue was founded and in 1886 this cemetery was built where there are currently 35 tombstones.
Almost all the Jews from Ter Apel were deported by the Germans during World War II and killed in extermination camps.
By default, the cemetery is not accessible. There is a telephone number at the gate door that can be contacted if you wish to visit the cemetery.
