Outside the grounds of the Mühlen-Freilicht-Museum, on the corner of Lüneburger Straße and Konrad-Adenauer-Straße, stands a replica of a Scottish mill. Lovingly dubbed "Lady Devorgilla", she is used by the city of Gifhorn for weddings and therefore also called the white wedding mill. The windmill wings turn only when a couple gives the yes-word. The original is in Dumfries, the Scottish twin town Gifhorns.
