The patron saint of the Tetenbüll church is Saint Anne, the mother of Mary, the grandmother of Jesus. According to the old chronicles, the first, probably wooden church was built in 1113 at another location in Tetenbüll. There are no traces of this church left. The beginnings of the current church date back to around 1400. In 1491 the church was extended and the tower was built. The oldest parts of the church are in the area of the tower.
