The walls of the reception room are decorated with more than man-sized linen canvases with landscapes of river views in a mountainous environment, upholstered with overgrown ruins, travelers, farmers and cattle.
They are the work of the landscape painter Dirk Dalens III (1688-1753) and date from 1742. The paintings were not originally made for De Strijdhoef, because the house was built in this form in 1761. They were probably added here around 1787. by the resident at the time, baron Willem van Dopff (1721-1794).
