The Hermitage of Veracruz was built on the remains of an old synagogue. In 1576 the first stone of the current building was laid in a corral previously bought by the Cofradia de Veracruz de Valdepeñas.

The current building that is the Church of Veracruz was built in 1576 but originally there was a synagogue here. This is an interesting building to see and an interesting part of Valdepeñas history. It is also right across the street from the Municipal Museum.
