The arduous ascent to the Illinizas is rewarded by a wide view over the lowlands. With a bit of luck and a clear view, the surrounding volcanoes are clearly visible. Antisana and Chimborazo in the distance, but very close to Cotopaxi with its frequently wafting plume of smoke. Very beautiful as well as impressive.
