Built by Queen Mother Trang Y Thuan Hieu at the beginning of King Thanh Thai's reign, the pagoda is a mixture of Linh Giac and Vien Quang pagodas. It was built in the mid-19th century and damaged soon after.
In 1962 it was rebuilt.
