Cultural pleasure in the middle of the city. During a walk through downtown Wittenberg, the path inevitably leads past the Kultur- und Festspielhaus. The large, monumental-looking building from the year 1959 is located in the Bahnstraße and thus directly on the shopping mile of the Elbe city. In front of the Kulturhaus, benches under the umbrella of the plane trees invite you to linger. This square is named after the famous Berlin operetta composer Paul Lincke, who acquired the musical equipment for his later activity from 1881 to 1884 at the Wittenberg Stadtpfeiferei. The bust in front of the Festspielhaus commemorates this popular composer.

The cityscape, which was a defining feature of the cityscape, was listed as a neoclassical building in 1994, just in time for the comprehensive refurbishment of the building from 1997 to 1999.
