Stamp office 130 / Iberger AlbertturmOn the Iberg (563 m above sea level) is located between Bad Grund and Wildemann the Albert Tower. The newly founded Harzclub branch Bad Grund has already in 1886 with the support of the Bad Grundner clubs, especially the choral societies, a 20 m high wooden tower for 1100, - Mark created. Due to the weather, the wooden tower soon became useless. It was decided to build a new tower. With the tower construction was begun on 16 June 1907, so that on December 28, 1907, the construction of the 25 m high tower could take place. The construction costs amounted to 7.500, - mark.At a high cost in 1955, the tower was renovated and received a reinforced concrete coat. In 1963, it was forced to increase the tower by almost 10 m, as the beech stand was grown all around, that no round view was possible. In 1969, the basic base finally got a reinforced concrete shell, which is to carry the building in the next millennium.Since the existence of the lookout tower in 1886, there was also a small forest restaurant. The Waldgasthof am Iberger Albertturm offers, besides its resin-refreshing, rustic cosiness, a unique attraction: snowball fight in summer and the natural snow from last winter. The snow is stored in holes that are caused by leaching of lime from winter.

Delicious dishes prepared with bellwether. The landlady collects raspberries and you can buy homemade jam. In the spring, she collects the pine tips to make pine cone liqueur. On the tower you have a fantastic view.
